Engineering challenge
The client needed a steel platform capable of supporting heavy equipment while also providing safe access for operators and maintenance. The structure required support columns, beams, stairs, railings, access areas, and connection details suitable for fabrication and on-site installation.
Design approach
Guenzo designed the structural steel platform in Autodesk Inventor. The platform included steel columns, primary beams, secondary members, stair structure, handrails, guardrails, bracing, base plates, connection areas, and equipment support zones. The design was prepared as a practical industrial steel structure that could be fabricated in a workshop and assembled on site.
Manufacturing considerations
The platform design considered steel profile cutting, welded assemblies, bolted connections, access requirements, surface treatment, transport, and site installation. Fabrication drawings, cut lists, BOM, and assembly drawings were prepared so the workshop could manufacture the platform and installation team could assemble it correctly.
