Zerobox Modular Storage System

Guenzo Engineering is credited by Red Dot for the design of Zerobox, a modular storage system recognised with two Red Dot Award: Product Design 2026 distinctions. Zerobox is manufactured by bdxpq, and Red Dot credits the manufacturer's in-house designer alongside Guenzo.

Project overview

Zerobox is a modular storage system designed for long-term use, with durability and resource conservation at the centre of the concept. Its flat, standardised modules assemble into open crates or closed boxes of different sizes, so one system covers different storage needs in homes and workplaces.

Red Dot lists Zerobox in the Storage Box category of the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2026. It is manufactured by bdxpq Ltd. in London and bdxpq GmbH in Zurich.

Product design

The design characteristics below are taken from Red Dot's two published entries for Zerobox.

  • Five panels, divided into standardised modules that Red Dot notes allow efficient production
  • Flat, double-walled modules made from durable plastic
  • Configurations that can be either airtight or breathable
  • Modular plates that combine into open crates or closed boxes in several sizes
  • Elements that can each be replaced individually
  • Recycled materials, within a concept aimed at long-term use and less material waste
  • A transparent colour scheme

Red Dot recognition

Zerobox received two Red Dot distinctions in the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2026, published as two separate entries in Red Dot's winners section. The award is held by the product, Zerobox.

On both entries Red Dot lists the design credit as "Guenzo SIA (Guntis Endzinš), Liepāja, Latvia", the in-house design as Yoshitake Nagamine, and bdxpq as manufacturer.

Guenzo's role

What Red Dot verifies: on both official entries, Guenzo and its founder, Guntis Endziņš, are credited under Design for Zerobox, together with the manufacturer's in-house designer, Yoshitake Nagamine. The design credit is shared, and the manufacturer is bdxpq.

What Guenzo confirms: Guenzo carried out the full design process for Zerobox, working under the guidance of Yoshitake Nagamine, the project owner.

For the product development work Guenzo takes on for clients, see product design for manufacturing.
