Adjustable Welded Steel Table Frame with Wooden Top

Custom table frame designed as a SolidWorks weldment from rectangular steel tube legs with welded cross-bracing, adjustable leveling feet, and mounting details for a wooden tabletop.

Engineering challenge

The project required a stable and clean-looking table support structure that could be fabricated from rectangular steel tube profiles. The frame needed enough stiffness to support the wooden top while keeping the design visually light and simple. Because the table could be used on uneven floors, height-adjustable feet were included in the leg design.

Design approach

Guenzo created the welded steel frame as a CAD weldment assembly. The design included rectangular hollow section tube legs, diagonal cross-bracing, tabletop mounting points, foot plates, and threaded adjustable leveling feet. The geometry was prepared so the frame could be cut, welded, finished, and assembled with the wooden top by a fabrication workshop.

Manufacturing considerations

The design was prepared around practical steel fabrication methods: tube cutting, mitered joints, welded connections, drilled mounting points, surface finishing, and final assembly. The adjustable feet were included to make leveling easier after installation.
